A Solomon Islands’ feminist rights-based approach demonstrates that fulfillment of young women’s right to participate in public life and decision-making inside women’s organizations can simultaneously impact the material reality of rights by increasing rights fulfillment in young women’s everyday lives. This feminist ethnographic account of YWCA Solomon Islands’ feminist rights-based approach includes a multi-faceted set of strategies to support the fulfillment of young women’s rights. Despite the challenges YWCA Solomon Islands faces to full implementation, there is great potential to scale up its feminist rights-based approach to support rights fulfillment in other women’s organizations and communities in Solomon Islands and around the world. Calling for a new right to leadership, this study contributes an analysis of the intersections of generational and gender inequality. Further, the Y Intergenerational Leadership? Framework can be used as a resource by women’s organizations seeking to support young women’s leadership and increase the fulfillment of rights.en_US
