Abstract

This presentation aims to contribute to a better understanding of linked data in the law library environment. Linked data is a different way for our bibliographic data to interact with the data available on the Web. It has the potential to enhance the information we already provide, make it easier for us to provide that information and allow libraries to integrate themselves better with other information sources on the web. The main concepts of linked data are introduced the potential for law librarians to begin contributing in this area is considered.

Description

This presentation was delivered July 23, 2012 at the American Association of Law Libraries annual conference in Boston, and provides a little context that sets the stage for my two fellow speakers: Diane Hillmann and John Joergensen. It provides an introduction to linked data considering ways to visualize and get a better understanding of this relatively new concept.
