dc.description	About Bev Salmon: Beverley Noel Salmon, nurse, politician and prominent anti-racism and community activist, was the first Black female commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission and the first Black woman elected municipally in Toronto. Fonds consists of records documenting Beverley Salmon's work as an activist and as a North York and Metro Toronto Councillor. Records primarily pertain to subjects including race relations, the Toronto Transit Commission, the building of a subway to York University, and her involvement with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Records include correspondence, agenda packages, reports, notes, news clippings, and conference material.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	On Wednesday, March 4, 2020: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Joy Kirchner, Dean of Libraries hosted a 50th anniversary celebration of the Clara Thomas Archives & Special Collections at York University with an Archives Open House at Room 305, Scott Library York University, Keele Campus.
